MAGAZINE VELVETPARK BUYS SUBSCRIBERS FROM
GIRLFRIENDS AND ON OUR BACKS
New York, NY June 27, 2006: Velvetpark, the progressive and innovative
national lesbian lifestyle magazine, has purchased the active subscribers
of the lesbian magazines Girlfriends and On Our Backs.
Girlfriends and On Our Backs ceased publication in March 2006 and
its former owner, H.A.F. Publishing closed the sale with Velvetpark
in May 2006.
Velvetpark has assembled a new editorial staff for the launch of
its Summer Issue July 1 2006, starting with managing editor, Diana
Cage. Diana was editor at On Our Backs for five years and is the
author of several books on sex, dating and relationships. Angela
Jimenez signs on as senior editor. Angela's background in journalism
includes both writing and photojournalism. She is a regular contributing
photographer for the New York Times and the Newark Star Ledger.
Founder, Grace Moon, remains as Editor in Chief. Grace Moon started
Velvetpark four years ago in July 2002. Velvetpark has been knownfor
its original content, high quality graphics and photography due
impart to Moon?s background and training in the fine and applied
arts.
Velvetpark is published four times a year by Tableau Editions Ltd.
a women owned independent publishing company based in Chicago. Velvetpark's
editorial headquarters is located in Brooklyn, New York.
